Hip Replacement Surgery For Relieving Pain and Increasing Mobility

Hip replacement surgery or arthroplasty is a surgical treatment procedure that involves the replacement of diseased hip joint with an artificial joint. The use of an artificial joint is also called as prosthesis. The ball and socket joint of the hip is replaced by metal and plastic ball and socket component. They are designed to resist degradation, wear and corrosion.

Hip replacement surgery is done on those who suffer from hip joint damage, arthritis or an injury. People suffering from these problems often experience acute pain while walking or sitting at a place. However, after the surgery, they can relieve from pain and can restore motion and function of their hip joints. The main aim of performing replacement surgery is to relieve pain and increase the mobility of the damaged joint.

Before surgery, the doctor may recommend some medications or physical therapy. In case these treatments are not enough then replacement could be the right option. It is however, advised that before the surgery, patients must consult the doctor to know more about the surgical procedure and what can be expected from the same.
